It has been a few months since I created this website and posted on here. I have been super busy with loads of book editing, although not much writing. Currently, I have finished 3 books and a novella, and I have been spending all my time with my editor to get the work up to scratch. So even though I’ve been quiet here, please believe me, I have been doing things behind the scenes.
My Secrets & Lies series is ending later this year when the third and final book is being released – titled Secrets, Lies & Obsession. Most of my readers know me from these books, so I hope the ending to these characters and their stories are as fulfilling to read as they have been to create.
Obsession is the main theme of book three, if you didn’t guess, and we don’t just have one mystery to work out this time, but two running alongside each other. In Beechwood Close, a body emerges from the lake, stuffed into a suitcase, revealing that someone killed them over forty years ago. Anonymous letters start turning up at the door for the main characters, threatening to expose their secrets and lies from book 1 and 2, but who is the one sending them, and what do they want to gain from exposing the women’s secrets?
Even if you think you have worked out one mystery from this book, I hope you can’t work out both! We shall see…
For anyone who hasn’t read the first two books, they will be on sale later in the year to help build up momentum for the final book release. I think book 3 is the best of the lot, but I suppose only time will tell if I am correct with that judgement.
Next year I will release a stand-alone book titled – The Ghost Merchant. This is a slight change from my usual mystery books, being more of an urban fantasy, but please trust me when I say The Ghost Merchant is still very much rooted in mystery and character. Those parts of my writing have gone nowhere, but having the supernatural edge helped me form a new world with The Ghost Merchant and gave me the ability to tell some important stories from the past, and mix them with the present day world. Feedback from my beta readers has been really positive, so I’m hopeful about how it will go down.
Because this is a change in genre for me, I have written a short novella that is set 100 years before The Ghost Merchant, where we follow a side character from the main book and learn more about her history. Before releasing The Ghost Merchant, I will publish this novella and offer it as a free gift to anyone who signs up for my newsletter. That is all the updates I have for now. The keen eyed reader may have spotted I said I had 3 books finished, and that is true. “Divided” is the title of the 3rd book, and the release is scheduled for 2026. So I am way ahead of myself here. Keep your eyes peeled for some info about that special story when the time comes.
